Communications over here isn't to bad especially when you get used to it. The post seems slower and we don't seem to get a delivery that often or it maybe that we just don't get as much mail. You can get cable, Satellite and broadband, they even do satellite and wireless broadband which can be your only options if living out in the country

TELEPHONE

Eircom is the main provider in Ireland the same way as it is BT in the UK but like the UK other providers are starting to offer cheaper rates using the same Lines.

MOBILE

You have the choice of three Mobile networks in Ireland O2, Meteor and Vodafone

SATELLITE TV

POST

We are finding post from the UK takes around 2 to 3 days to get here which isn't too bad I suppose. We have recently start having Bulk mail sent by my mother in the UK delivered to Karen's work address as it seems to get here quicker.

One thing we have found getting parcels delivered can be a slow process, once they hit Ireland one of a few Couriers take over delivery of the parcel and trying to track them down and get them delivered can take a while. One example of this is I had one of Karen's Christmas presents delivered here. It was ordered before Christmas from the UK. It didn't make it for Christmas so after the holiday we started to track and it took a few weeks to find out which courier it had finally ended up with who said they were too busy to deliver it because of the Christmas back log and we ended up going to pick it up.

Its no good looking for Red letterboxes because you wont find any. In Ireland the letterboxes along with the vans are green.

The post offices are usually very helpful and friendly. To send a standard letter to the UK will cost you 60c
